Liquid Post a.k.a Watusi Productions is like family (and home) to me already. Not only because their studio resembles a New Yorker’s bachelor’s pad, but because I have grown fond of the people there. Awesome people who adopt me, give me free pizza, let me use the bathroom, et cetera, even if I’m not employed there and I’m just waiting for my sundo.
For some reason, these folks—maybe it’s the water from their dispenser—are polymaths. Multi-talented individuals who are prolific, too. Not content with just making music for commercials and TV shows, they decided to make a full-length film. A horror film, at that. And it’s finished! Ripe for the picking! Yay :)
Having been selected for the 2011 Cinemalaya NETPAC Competition, it premieres on July 16, at Greenbelt 3.

Wincy Ong a.k.a Patience Dear Juggernaut, Sven from defunct TV series, “Rakista” and Us-2 Evil-0 keyboardist—directed this film. He is also producer, writer, editor and actor. So yep, it’s the Wincy Ong showcase.
Dan Gil, keyboardist and band leader of Chillitees, owner of Liquid Post a.k.a Mikey’s boss, is the film’s D.O.P. and producer. He also knows how to make a good steak.
Mark McCullie, resident sound engineer and the only person I know who is really from Cyprus, did sound design for this film. He also has a special love for midget boxing. Must be a Cypriot thing.
Jazz Nicolas a.k.a. 5th member of the Eraserheads (yun!) is songwriter, drummer and vocalist of the Itchyworms. He did the music for this film. He is also daddy to Keoni and Ninja. And, passionate lover to…
Mikey Amistoso a.k.a. Hannah+Gabi, Ciudad songwriter/vocalist/bassist, Blast Ople dancer and Snitch commercial model hahaha. Along with Jazz, he created the music for this film, and then they made sweet, sweet love after. In a tub. With bubble bath. And aromatherapy candles.
San Lazaro stars Ramon Bautista, whom I will not link to any URL because you see him on GMA News TV and commercials, anyway. It also stars Nicco Manalo—can anyone confirm if he’s the son of Jose Manalo from Eat Bulaga? I like this actor, I’ve seen him on his earlier films while he was still a student in CSB, and he’s really effective. You will also see Bianca King, Ely Buendia and Allan Forte on this film. So yeah, star-studded both cast and crew.
Mark the dates:
16 July/Sat 6:30PM Greenbelt 3 - Cinema 5 (with talks from cast/crew)
18 July/Mon 4:00PM Greenbelt 3 - Cinema 3
22 July/Fri 6:15PM CCP Tang. Aurelio Tolentino (Little Theatre)

(Holygeez, that felt like writing the class yearbook. Guys ha, I blogged about you. This is for letting me sleep on the couch and giving me Andok’s chicken when I’m there during dinner time. Mwah!)
